Inside the Senate

What is the External Relations Committee? The External Relations Committee works with HBS Communications and other business schools to tie the HBS student body into the greater business community. Section H Bonding

When we go to class and see all of the button-down, blue shirts, we realize that we’re in business school. I counted 23 one day. “A serious place for serious students” as Professor Khurana says. We use words like “throughput time” and “gross margin,” terms I’d never used before I came here. Then, a couple… Continue reading Section H Bonding

Why I Wear a Bike Helmet

Many HBS students have bicycles and ride them to class regularly–I know this because I’m always fighting with the rest of you for those prime bike rack spots in front of Aldrich. Many HBS students also don’t wear bike helmets–I know this because I can see it with my own two eyes. I would like… Continue reading Why I Wear a Bike Helmet

Conversation Non-Starters

I wouldn’t have thought this was necessary, but given the conversations I’ve been forced to endure over the last week, I’ve decided “That Guy” must once again boldly mix sports metaphors and step up to the plate to tackle an important issue: inane HBS conversation topics. Regardless of what you may think, all conversation topics… Continue reading Conversation Non-Starters

Tsunami: Turning the Waves of Disaster into Waves of Hope

Tsunami, a word unknown to most of us entered our vocabulary forever on December 26th. That day when the people of South Asia had hardly finished their Christmas celebrations, the tsunami caused destruction well beyond anyone’s wildest imaginations. It shocked all of us and exposed our vulnerability to forces of nature by the extent of… Continue reading Tsunami: Turning the Waves of Disaster into Waves of Hope

Doctor, doctor

Post-Rumor migraneAll the lights are too bright, the professor is speaking far too loudly and it is really hard to read the exhibits. Coffee will not help, you’re going to have to resort to some serious Advil and possibly wearing sunglasses in glass. If you’re on Skydeck, you may be able to grab a nap… Continue reading Doctor, doctor
