The Place to B

Welcome to the NB column. Here you will find the inside scoop on Club B (not the official nickname yet, but it will be if I get my way) just as often as I get around to writing it. I’m really excited to be serving as NB Harbus Rep and I hope to make you proud. Now on with the column:
AN EARLY GOODBYE

As you may have heard, our own Tucker Bailey has been called back to active duty in the US Navy. Tucker served as an intelligence officer before coming to HBS and he will be resuming his responsibilities. Fortunately, he will be returning to HBS exactly one year from the day he leaves, which is sometime this week at a date still TBD, and joining a new section that is already in progress at that time.

NB threw him a surprise going away party at John Harvard’s last Thursday. Sectionmates, friends from Analytics, and more filled the bar to wish Tucker a fond farewell. NB also presented him with a scrapbook of memories from the last few months.

Tucker, I speak for all of NB when I say that we are going to miss you so much. We hope whichever section you join as part of the Class of 2004 realizes how lucky they are to have you. You will always have a home in NB. We wish you all the best.
FEELING THE LOVE

Thanks to a bunch of party-loving people and Social Rep Kate Hartwell, NB is quickly proving itself as the premier social powerhouse in the Class of 2003. Section bonding has been running rampant over the last few weeks, as we’ve had a variety of NB events. Julie Gish hosted a Girls Only Wine and Cheese party. Despite the gloomy weather, Phil Kerr brought us all out to his place in Belmont for a Mimosa Brunch. We also bridged the gap between old and new at NB/OB small group dinners followed by drinks at Grendel’s. OB was outnumbered 2 to 1. They blamed it on recruiting, but we’re wondering, OB, where’s the love???

NB was also in full force at the Priscilla Ball. We all had a fantastic time, but are still upset that the open bar closed so early. What’s up with people crashing the party anyway? From what I remember, it was an incredible time and the stress-reliever that we’ve all been looking for. At the very least, it made for good Monday morning conversation.
MORE FUN STILL TO COME

Wednesday nights have quickly emerged as weekly NB pub nights, so keep them open. This week is dinner at John Harvard’s with NC on October 24th. We will also be enjoying Dim Sum on October 28th at China Pearl in Boston. And for fun with the whole family, we are going bowling on November 7th.

WANT IN ON THE ACTION?
Are you from a different section? Do you agree that NB is the foremost authority on First Year fun? Do you want to party with us? I don’t blame you. Contact our Social Rep Kate Hartwell at khartwell@mba2003.hbs.edu to set something up.
