The board of directors of the Harbus News Corporation elected its new officers for the calendar year 2002 on December 3. After intense deliberations, the board voted in Susan Kim (NC) as Publisher, and Nick Will (NI) as Editor-in-Chief.
Susan (Harvard College ’96) has a background in management consulting and brand marketing, and loves the media industry. She cites her strong desire to be part of the Harbus team, and help produce an excellent product in the publishing and media space as her primary motivations for joining the Harbus.
Nick (UT Austin ’98) also has a background in management consulting. He is a jazz enthusiast and a coffee lover. Nick believes that The Harbus could play a strong role in spotlighting the personal experiences and views of students to help broaden the “human face of HBS”. He feels The Harbus could play a vital role in HBS community life by digging for as many facets and lenses as possible through which to see the school, and through which for us to see ourselves.
Jim Mutugi (OB), Publisher, shared his excitement about the incoming team. “Susan and Nick really wowed everyone with their energy and enthusiasm. They’re smart, funny and far more prepared than their predecessors were. The only downside is that they’re going to make Prash, Rick and I look really bad by comparison. It’s a great day for the Harbus, though, so we’re extremely pleased.”
The board continues its search for a Managing Director of the Harbus Online to take the place of Rick Zednik (OF). With the huge success enjoyed by the new face of the online edition in 2001, the new team will be looking for someone who can continue the work of building a strong online content business.
