Harvard Business School’s Most Eligible Bachelors 2017-2018
Matt Stansky, Section H
What do you think is the most romantic spot on campus?
Weeks footbridge at sunset, a quiet table for two in Baker, or the Shad basketball courts, it’s not where, but with whom, so wherever you are is where I want to be.
What do you look for in a partner?
Someone with humble self-confidence who believes she can make the game-winning shot. She’s got spunk, is your best teammate, and most importantly, has footwork for the hardwood or dfloor
What is the best advice you can give for the HBS dating scene?
You find success one possession at a time, so be patient and be yourself. Don’t be afraid to take the shot…you just may be taking Cinderella to the big dance.
What is your best attribute?
It’s no coincidence that hustle requires zero athleticism and is also my greatest attribute on and off the court. I don’t need to be the superstar, but I’ll be your MVP.
What is your ideal date?
Running the Harvard Stadium steps at sunrise. If the view isn’t breathtaking, then the stairs sure will be. We’d end with my favorite, well-earned breakfast — Chef Felipe’s omelets in Spangler.
Your worst date: what went wrong and what did you learn?
I’ve never have a bad date, but I’ve learned that upset endings can be heartbreakers. Fortunately, there’s always next season.
What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
Besides jumping passing lanes and pulling up for 3’s in transition, I can’t resist dancing to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”.
EB, Section F

Appreciation of nuanced flannel button downs, ambivalence towards pumpkin spiced lattes, enjoys delicious micro brews (esp Indian pale ales) and charcuterie plates
What is the best advice you can give for the HBS dating scene?
Contrary to popular HBS belief, dating is not like an investment banking / consulting engagement. No need for non disclosure agreements, exclusivity periods, non competes. Have fun out there guys!
What is your best attribute?
1 rep max bench press @ 285lbs (~129 kg – see I’m even international eligible guys!)
What is your ideal date?
Tall boy PBRs at the diviest bar you can think of (think peeps
republik meets Brooklyn meets Portlandia). Guns N Roses or zeppelin cover band in background
Your worst date: what went wrong and what did you learn?
I once took this girl to brunch in LA and all she did was take an Instagram photo of her food (obvi she got Avo toast or something) and write #EEEEEATS under it. Yeah…that sucked. Turns out we probably wouldn’t have worked out anyways, apparently
What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
Whey protein, beach boys and Beatles vinyls and this new John Mayer record! Seriously guys give it a listen on your morning walk to class – it’s killer!

It is important to respect each other’s opinion, because people come from very different backgrounds.

I enjoy all the comfort food: BBQ, fried chicken, Lady M Green Tea Cake… you name it.
Pratik Pokharel, Section J
What do you think is the most romantic spot on campus?
The Dean’s House. Adding HBS to your Tinder profile is already game changing. Now imagine adding “Yo. Come check out my crib…”
What do you look for in a partner?
Low self-esteem. It’s usually my only chance.
What is the best advice you can give for the HBS dating scene?
MIT isn’t that far away. It’s walkable even. The undergrads are even closer.
What is your best attribute?
Eternal optimism. Hope. The undying belief that despite all the rejection, tomorrow will be a better day.
What is your ideal date?
I think dd/mm/yyyy is the perfect date format (yyyy/mm/dd is passable). The mm/dd/yyyy system used in these parts is just ludicrous.
Your worst date: what went wrong and what did you learn?
Once, feeling particularly alone and unloved I invited a homeless woman to join me in the local KFC for a quick bite. She laughed and ran away. I learned that “Mean Girls” isn’t only the title of a film.

Double fisting… (I’m sometimes a really slow drinker).

Slovenian chicken day in the Spangler Dining Hall. There’s a reason you’ve never heard of Slovenian chicken.

Curiosity. My life outlook is that we should always be discovering new and exciting things about the world and never become complacent.
What is the best advice you can give for the HBS dating scene?
To be less judgmental of our classmates who date or attempt to date within our community. I think that oftentimes we gossip a lot or judge sectionmates and it creates a self-conscious student body that isn’t helpful to our romantic lives.

Loyalty. I am as loyal as a golden retriever and will never let a friend down. I think it’s important to always be there for those who are there for you.
