In a physical game that wasn’t pretty for either side, OK downed ND2 in an early divisional match-up. OK kept ND2 off balance throughout the opening minutes and scrapped to a 33-18 halftime edge. The game was played very loose, allowing for aggressive defense and leaving players sprawled on the court on more than one occasion. However, OK’s Kevin Rabbitt was able to avoid punishment inside by consistently shooting over the `D’, draining jumpers beyond the arc. ND2 was aggressive on the boards, winning many battles underneath the hoop. The problem for ND2 was that they had trouble converting their rebounds into points. They missed numerous lay-ups which could have made the game closer than the final score indicated. On the other side, Patrick Moore of OK was the lay-up master and took home the coveted cherry-picking award for the game. He also buried his first three of the season after a horrific 0% in his first game. ND2’s Samir Parikh drained a few threes, but too late in the game to threaten the eventual outcome. OK is now 2-0 with the victory as ND2 dropped to 0-2.
