Tuesday’s terrorist attacks created an urgent need for blood in the New York City and Washington, D.C., areas, and Boston-area blood banks are accepting donations to help meet that need.

The Mount Auburn Hospital blood bank, located at the hospital at the corner of Memorial Drive and Fresh Pond Parkway in Cambridge (roughly a mile from the HBS campus), is accepting donations by appointment only. For more information and to make an appointment, call 617-499-5060, extension 2.
The Massachusetts General Hospital blood bank, located in Boston near the Charles/MGH station on the Red Line, were accepting drop-ins on Tuesday. The blood bank is located in the “gray” building on the first floor. For more information, call 617-726-3620.
