In the last two weeks, members of section G have enjoyed the highs and lows of the craps tables at Foxwoods, a successful ski trip to Killington, Vermont and raucous night of Karaoke in downtown Boston. The Foxwoods trip, according to social czar Charles “Chuckie” Duhigg was conceived to give students “an opportunity to cover their Term II Tuition Bills.” “I initially envisioned the trip as a profit making expedition but somehow things seemed not to work out as planned,” Duhigg said. The author however proved the exception to the rule and came out of Foxwoods ahead for the night…barely. Nam Nguyen coordinated a successful section assault on the town of Killington, Vermont.
Although the ski conditions left a little to be desired, the Penguins of G made the most of the weekend, organizing two back to back banquet dinners in Killington. The second dinner at The Summit Lodge was memorable as 36 G’ers had most of the mountain to themselves. Section members perhaps feeling a bit giddy from the effects of the altitude proceeded down the mountain to their mountainside condos for an all night gathering ending around 4 AM. Highlights included a highly competitive game of Twister between Jeff Norton and Chuckie Duhigg. The results of the match up are being kept close to the vest.
Finally, Section G turned in a solid performance this past Saturday night at Do Re Me Karaoke Club in downtown Boston. Isiah Zhang who entertained section mates all evening long with an evening long tribute to Michael Jackson inspired the event. Nam Nguyen and Jen McCoy sang their own tribute to 80s teen band Menudo while section DJ Nitin Nayar kept the Sake glasses full. Look for Gers in such far away places as Las Vegas and New Orleans in the months to come as they scour the globe in search of merriment.
