A Minute With: a New A&E Series

Welcome to the first installment of “A Minute With:” a series of informal profile interviews with business leaders in media and entertainment. In a time when media is undergoing unprecedented change, these executives, entrepreneurs, investors and creators have been kind enough to share their industry experiences and outlooks with The Harbus.

The perspectives we look forward to bringing include those of Russell Simmons (founder Island/Def Jam and Phat Farm apparel), Alan Light (Editor-in-Chief Spin Magazine and media entrepreneur), Ted Mico (Marketing Executive, Columbia Records), Amy Churgin (Publisher, Architectural Digest) and Matthew Blank (Showtime Networks).

I am very excited to kick off the series with a conversation with Ms. Gina Sanders, a veteran magazine executive with Conde Nast Publications.

Ms. Sanders served as Publisher of Gourmet and Details before becoming founding Publisher of the new and already highly successful Teen Vogue title, ehich launched in February 2003.

The thoughts she shared on her career, the challenge of launching a new magazine and the evolution of the publishing industry are featured above, where The Harbus will feature run a new “A Minute With” profile each week.
