HBS Welcomes New Director of MBA Community Standards

Kimberly Budd is the new Director of MBA Community Standards at HBS.

In her new role, Budd will be working closely with the Leadership and Values section representatives to assist in the management of the Leadership and Values Initiatives (LVI). Also, she will oversee all aspects of the Community Standards Program including facilitating the functioning of the Conduct Review Board.

Kim Budd is no stranger to the Harvard community. As a graduate of Harvard Law School, she spent several years as an attorney for Mintz Levin, a Boston-based law firm, and then joined the US Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted federal crimes committed in Massachusetts. Five years ago, she returned to Harvard and served as a University attorney in the Office of the General Counsel. She has represented Harvard University in cases ranging from labor and employment matters to faculty and student issues.

Members of the faculty and administration are excited to have Budd join the HBS community. W. Carl Kester, Senior Associate Dean and Chair of the MBA Program stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Kim Budd to the MBA team. Kim brings a unique skill set and valuable perspective to her role as Director of Community Standards, combining extensive Harvard experience, an in-depth knowledge of law, and a passion for working with students.”

Budd herself is excited about her new role. She mentioned that while her work in the General Counsel’s office was interesting, she did not have the opportunity to interact with students as much as she would have liked.

She is looking forward to working closely with HBS students to make a difference. Feel free to stop by her office in Spangler 251 and introduce yourself to Kim.
