Me ‘n’ Her
Goldie: Did you get any sense whatsoever as to why the owner of Piccola Nido was willing to shut down the entire restaurant for Derek? Should we all walk gingerly in Mr. Aframe’s presence?
Renteria: When he walked in, the earth stopped moving and time stood still for a while, but I don’t think we actually need to be afraid.
Goldie: I remember the scene in Lady and the Tramp where the dog couple shares the same strand of spaghetti. How do you achieve the same effect when you’re eating gnocchi?
Renteria: We were eating the same kind of food, it just wasn’t the same piece of food. That could be date number 2!
Goldie: How exactly did the evening end? I’d like to hear your version of the story.
Renteria: I just kind of gave him a quick hug and went upstairs. That’s my usual MO.
Goldie: So, as you know, I was planning on going out with Derek myself for the big Valentine’s Day Special Edition (note shameless plug), but then I generously gave him to you. I made a big boo-boo, didn’t I?
Renteria: Absolutely. He seriously went all out. He was really awesome.
Me ‘n’ Him
Goldie: First of all, I’d just like to say that I had no idea Paul Revere went to HBS. I guess the administration spends so much time bringing Jeff Skilling (MBA ’79, Section A) to campus we don’t get a chance to learn about other famous alums.
Aframe: I think it’s all part of the HBS learning model.
Goldie: Why exactly was the owner of Piccola Nido willing to shut down the entire restaurant for you, and should we all walk gingerly in your presence?
Aframe: Well, he heard who I was bringing.
Goldie: Please tell me you were sitting next to P. Diddy at the game. Or at least someone cooler than James Carville and Mary Matalin, who I sat next to at the Wizards game.
Aframe: No, I tried to pick a spot where we could have as much room to ourselves as possible. We needed some quality time to ourselves, just us and 17,000 other people.
Goldie: What do you think Bafana Bafana’s chances are in the 2002 World Cup? Will they make it out of the preliminary rounds?
Aframe: After getting stiffed for the World Cup in 2006, the South Africans deserve it.
Goldie: That’s really beautiful. I’m tearing up as we speak. One final question: where is your car currently parked?
Aframe: I’m still looking as we speak. Ah, found it.
Me ‘n’ Them
Goldie: OK, my previous ‘Me n’ Them’ questions were getting too complicated for my interviewees, so I’ll just ask it straight out – will there be another Intraview?
Renteria: Hmm. That’s not in my hands, is it?
Aframe: I’m not one to date and tell, except of course for you, Goldie.
