In NF’s final game of the season, offensive stars quarterback Noah Charney and wide receiver Bernal (“B”) Hall showed significant promise going into next season. Charney and Hall scored early on a long touchdown pass in the cold fall breeze as NF was never threatened in a 13-6 romp over NH.
“We showed that we have big-play potential and I am happy with the effort our young team has given all season,” Coach Yuri Feldman said. “Our team finished off the season on a positive note and built a solid foundation for next year.”
Charney got NF going early by moving the team the length of the field in four plays on their first possession, capped by a bomb from midfield to Hall for a 6-0 lead. Hall ran a quick post route that enabled him to get by the defensive backs for the score.
“Hall gets off the ball so quick, it’s hard to get any kind of good read on him,” said an unidentified NH defensive back. ” Speed kills and that’s what happened to us.”
NF benefited from its best defensive effort of the year. The fierce pass rush of defensive stalwart Will Shaffer caused numerous passing errors by NH. NF was also helped by the return of its two-sport star, Bryan Vaniman. “Vaniman is just a beast,” said another NH defensive back.
“He’s a great possession receiver over the middle especially in goal line situations.”
“Charney looked like Brett Favre out there. If it weren’t for some lucky breaks on turnovers, Charney would have shredded us for a lot more. He was just awesome.”
