In a battle of A League unbeatens, New A held off New E 61-52 in front of a packed house at Shad Gymnasium. NA came out strong and built a 12 point halftime lead on the hot shooting of Joaquin Tamez (including a 4 point play) and the tough inside play of Phil Black. NE came back strong in the second half behind Bobby Dixon, Dallin Anderson, and their raucous crowd, but the gritty defense and rebounding of Bill Moore and Mike Downes and the vocal support of a couple dozen sectionmates allowed NA to hang on and stay undefeated.
