(HBS) Last semester, the week after the Massachusetts Supreme Court voted 4-3 to allow same-sex marriage, the Harbus decided to run its lead article on the HBS Show instead.
“Yeah, it might have been interesting to learn about the historic ruling’s long-term political and social ramifications and how it will affect students and faculty,” said Amil Khabaz, one of the seventeen Harbus Editors-in-Chief last semester.
“But we thought it was more important to let people know that the annual HBS Show will go on as planned in April because a lot of people were worried that it wasn’t taking place. We also wanted people to know that the HBS Show Board has seven people, not six, and that for the first time ever there will be an HBS Show website.”
According to Jason Hart, a member of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Student Association, “A monumental granting of civil rights to a historically-oppressed minority group is one thing, but an unnamed show with a $50,000 budget taking place five months later is on a whole different level when it comes to the news.”
