In a demonstration of the Lady Blades’ vast improvement this season, the team returned to the ice Sunday night to defeat MOE (Mothers on Edge). Despite the absence of some star players, the Blades pulled out a 3-2 victory late in the third period. Jen Daily (NF) set the tone for the game with a breakaway goal early in the first period. A well-placed second period shot by Morgan McKenney (OC) kept the Blades in the game in the face of more experienced competition and Beth Stott’s goal late in the third period clinched it for the Blades.
Another incredible goal tending performance by Chari Ruane and tough defense led by Co-Captain Kelli McKechnie (OE), Camille Kubie (NA) and Pam Kocher held MOE to two goals.
