Without Inhibition

Welcome back, MBA Class of 2012! And a big hello to the Class of 2013: We’re thrilled to meet you!

It’s great to be back. After a summer of internships, travel, and time with friends and family, we are excited to reconnect with the extraordinary HBS community. It feels unreal that we have just one more year left.

The summer gave us, as it always does, needed time for reflection… But more importantly, it brought a slew of new dance-floor hits, from Pitbull’s ‘Tonight’ and Gaga’s ‘Edge of Glory’ to J-Lo’s ‘On the Floor’: these songs encouraged us all to live the night to its fullest and dance without inhibition.

The point is: time flies and we can only hope that we all live this year at HBS to its fullest.

Build new friendships – without inhibition. Pursue career paths – without inhibition. Fully indulge in all HBS has to offer academically- without inhibition. It’s time to take advantage of the classes, students, professors, alumni, speaker series, conferences and, of course, trips to the Kong that define the two years of HBS life. We can only be successful as a community when we share our unique skills, talents and experiences.

Find what is most meaningful to you and use your time here to pursue it aggressively.

And how does the Student Association (SA) fit into this vision?

The SA has developed rich programming to help you squeeze every drop from your HBS experience. We’ve planned social events (TGIFs, Halloween, Holidazzle, retreat weekends etc), community service projects, a thrilling SA Cup Intramural tournament, forums to develop your new business idea, opportunities to hear from and meet with business leaders and even sessions to learn which side of the plate the fork goes on.

So read our emails, like our pages on Facebook, be active and engage with the SA in person or through our site; we hope to see you often!

And remember, this will be a year of change. Between curriculum enhancements and the upcoming launch of the iLab, HBS will be electric. You can help to shape it all by providing your constructive feedback and support at every step. Our door is always open, so give a wave, say hi and remember to enjoy this amazing ride.
