3×3 Dinners

Harvard has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on centers of collaboration.  However, tangible success has proved evasive.  From informal conversation, graduate students, especially those from the business school, feel isolated and detached from the undergrad and graduate campuses replica watches.  As a result, Omar Restom (NF) has taken matters into his own hands.  His solution—dinner.

The 3×3 Dinners group 3 business and 3 technical entrepreneurial students to have dinner together in a half-decent restaurant.  As the students wait for their food to arrive, they do what has been so hard to encourage historically—they talk to each other.  Sound simple?  The brilliance of the solution is in its simplicity.  Rather than create an environment designed for a specific entrepreneurial purpose, the dinner fosters camaraderie in an informal, social setting, and allows collaboration to form organically.

The hope is that idle conversations during dinner will continue in the future.  However, even if it doesn’t, knowing individuals at other parts of Harvard has continued benefits.  Described Restom, “When I wanted to go to a Hack Harvard event, I just shot an email to a few guys I met at the dinner.  It was great to already know people when I arrived.”

Restom and his team have tested the 3×3 Dinners multiple times, and by all indications, they have all been successes.  Thus far, HBS students have dined with undergrads through Harvard College Venture Partners.  However, Omar plans to work with the Graduate Student Council (GSC) to institute 3×3 Dinners with other grad schools //www.replicaforbest.co.uk/replica-breitling-watches-sale-for-uk.html.  An expanded pilot program to test efficacy will be instituted next year, which is of special relevance because of current collaboration initiatives to coincide with Harvard’s 375th anniversary.
