OUR CHARITIES: Two charities will be receiving the proceeds from the auction: Codman Academy //codmanacademy.org/main/index.php, Meredith Liu’s former workplace Rising Farmworker Dream Fund //www.risingfarmworkers.org/, an organization founded by Lulu Wang’s fiancé Martin Curiel (HBS 2004).

SECTION F – MAY 5
EVENT: Section F’s Charity Auction (“Share the Flove”).
DATE & TIME: Tuesday, May 5TH, 7:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
WHERE: Redline in Harvard Square (Capacity 150 guests).
FOR TICKETS: The auction is OPEN to other sections, but there are a limited number of additional tickets available. People should contact Steve Alden by April 30th.
OUR CHARITIES: Five charities will be receiving the proceeds from the auction: Asha (Hope) for Education: Asha funds schools and other educational programs in India. Asha currently has 74 chapters worldwide and over 300 projects.ÿ $4,000 can fund an entire school and teacher.ÿPrize4Life: Prize4Life seeks to create breakthroughs in effective treatments for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Prize4Life was founded by Avi Kremer (HBS ’06), who was diagnosed with ALS during his RC year. The Alexander Capelluto Foundation: The Alexander Capelluto Foundation grants funding to college students who cannot afford even the most basic course supplies, such as textbooks, course packets, art materials, and other supplies, which are not covered by financial aid.ÿMercado Global: Mercado Global is a non-profit fair trade organization that empowers female artisans in Latin America to become agents of change in their communities. Pro Mujer: Pro Mujer provides poor women in 5 Latin American countries with the means to build livelihoods for themselves and futures for their families through microfinance, business training, and healthcare support. It serves 200,000 clients and has provided $488M in small loans.ÿ
OUR TIES: At least one member of Section F is closely involved with each of the charities:Asha (Hope) for Education: Ambar Bhattacharyya co-founded the Philadelphia chapter and continues to work with the Boston chapter. Sanjay Aggarwal has served as VP of Networking for the Chicago chapter.
Prize4Life: Sorina Casian-Botez and Emily Minkow are both involved with fundraising for Prize4Life. The Alexander Capelluto Foundation: Katherine Capelluto and her parents established this foundation in memory of Katherine’s brother. Mercado Global: Jeremy Kahan works with this organization and has pledged to match up to $15,000 in donations dollar-for-dollar. Pro Mujer: Anne Kofol founded a junior board for Pro Mujer in 2007 and has planned two fundraisers for the organization.

OUR CHARITIES: Proceeds will be split equally between three charities: Adoption and Foster Care Mentoring: Prize4Life and MEET (Middle East Education through Technology)
OUR TIES: Adoption and Foster Care Mentoring (AFC Mentoring): Organization was founded by J. Justin Pasquariello who is a member of our section.ÿ Given that Justin was the founder and former Executive Director of AFC Mentoring, the section felt it was important to support his charity.
