HBS Soccer Continues Winning Tradition

Often overlooked by the intense media coverage showered on the Rugby Club, many of you may not know that HBS has an extremely strong soccer organization that fields two competitive teams in the Boston graduate-school league.

Despite losing a solid group of second year players, this year’s squad was fortunate to have added over 30 RCs to an already-strong EC roster. Expectations are high given the fact that last year’s group won the Yale Cup tournament championship and reached the semi-finals in the MBA World Cup at Tuck.

Over the past four weekends, HBS Red and White teams have showN great promise, and the club leadership is optimistic that the group can even improve on last year’s results. To date, the two teams have competed in six games, running up a record of 4-1-1. More impressively, the four victories over Tufts, Boston University, Harvard Law, and Harvard Graduate Schools of Arts and Sciences came with a margin of 24 goals to only eight goals against – this potent offensive attack should come as no surprise to those who follow HBS soccer!

As the season progresses, excitement continues to build. Next up, the squad faces off against MIT-Sloan and Boston University this weekend.

As the team looks ahead to defending its title at the Yale Cup in two weeks, the HBS community should congratulate themselves on fielding yet another championship-caliber team.
