Down memory lane…

As roommate of Al Gibney for the two years we were at HBS following Dartmouth College (1936-38) I was with him in his founding of the HARBUS NEWS. Our Headquarters was at Gallatin Hall B-entry. Our equipment consisted of pencils and portable typewriters. The initial printing was done on four pages of offset.
Al enlisted Guy Garland as New Editor, Vic Vesey as Advertising Manager and me as Business Manager along with a staff of ten. He saw the need for a communications medium and his creative leadership enabled the paper to survive a shaky start to put out 14 issues the first year.
